Terms of service
The short version: be kind, post only CSS you’re free to share, and know that everything you submit can be remixed by anyone.
Using Style That DOM
Style That DOM is run by Joel Nevius. By using the site, you agree to these terms and to the privacy policy. You must be at least 13 years old. You sign in with GitHub or an email and password, and you’re responsible for what happens under your account.
Your submissions are CC0
When you submit CSS, you dedicate it to the public domain under CC0 1.0. Anyone, including us, can copy, remix, and reuse it for any purpose, without asking or giving credit. That’s what makes “Remix this CSS” possible. Credit is still appreciated.
Only submit CSS you have the right to share. Don’t paste someone else’s code unless its license allows public domain reuse.
Notes and comments
You keep ownership of your notes and comments. You give us permission to display them on Style That DOM for as long as you leave them up.
Be honest about AI
If AI tools helped write your CSS, turn on “Used AI” when you submit. AI is allowed. Hiding that you used it isn’t.
The challenges
You’re welcome to use challenge markup to practice and to show your solutions in your portfolio, with or without credit.
Don’t
- Harass, threaten, or impersonate anyone, or post hateful, sexual, or illegal content.
- Spam, or use automation to submit, comment, or like.
- Try to break out of the preview sandbox, attack the site, or access accounts or data that aren’t yours.
- Scrape the site in a way that slows it down for others.
Moderation
We may remove any submission or comment, and we may suspend or delete accounts that break these terms. We’ll use judgment, but we don’t promise to review every post.
Leaving
You can delete your account at any time from your account page. We may also change or shut down Style That DOM. If we plan to shut it down, we’ll try to give notice first.
No warranty
Style That DOM is a free hobby project, provided “as is” with no warranties. To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for any indirect or consequential damages, or for any loss of data or content, arising from your use of the site.
Changes
If these terms change, we’ll update the date at the top. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the new terms.
